Happy Fourth!! Remember what today is all about.
-Red white and blue nails
-Overly accessorized patriotic outfits
-An excuse to eat colorful jello and not feel weird about it
-Blowing things up
-Taking sparkler photos with your bestie
-Being the baddest on the block because your dad got explosives from Mexico
On a more serious note...There was a video going around on Facebook where they were interviewing people about the fourth. The question that was being asked was “Why do we celebrate the Fourth of July?” And NO ONE knew the answer. (palm to forehead.) So people, here you go…
“Independence Day of the United States, also referred to as Fourth of July or July Fourth in the U.S., is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress declaring that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire.”
